For a long time, I believed my desires were contrary to what life wanted and needed from me.
As an aspiring servant of Life, I created within other people's ideas of what was right or allowed. I created some powerful things, but I've found that it's only when I create from my true north that I feel fulfilled in what I've given.
I've been in this arena my whole life; creating and leading is my lifeline. It started with a lemonade + golf ball empire I built when I was 7. I went on to help found and lead a company in my 20s that facilitated $4mm+ in sustained, high-impact enrichment to 25,000+ children living in high-poverty communities. I landed on 22 acres of rural, mountain farmland in 2019, and have stewarded it into a thriving home for my family. This land gave birth to Heart of Men, my most aligned creative + leadership endeavor to date.
In all these moments, some true desire was calling me forward before I felt ready. It was in saying yes to following the thread that I've become the man I am today.
I believe what we create moves out in front of us like ripples on a lake. We then swim inside the waters of what we've created. So, it's a worthy task to create something we actually desire.
