Heart of Men

Our World Needs a New Masculine Leadership

It begins with each man knowing, living, and giving the gift he came here for.

Our circles help restore the knowing of who we really are, why we're here, and how to lead ourselves into the life we came here for. We're crafting a world where men are well, their communities are well, and we leave a culture for our sons and daughters worthy of their existence.

In 400 years, do you want to be known as one of the men who did the thing so that life could be good again?

From the Brotherhood

"I did not have models, a culture, a framework for a life as a man that celebrated male intimacy, vulnerability, accountability, or brotherhood. With Heart of Men I was asked to explore those dimensions of masculinity I have been robbed of my entire life, and found a depth of male relationship that is direct, intimate, and based in mutual admiration and trust.

I want to acknowledge your fear and your resistance to opening up in this work and this transformation. Because Heart of Men will change your life, and you will wake up one day the kind of man you did not think was possible: connected, nourished, and free."

Who Am I

I created Heart of Men because I needed this space, and I didn't have it during some of the most defining moments of my life.

I helped found and lead a company in my 20s that facilitated $4mm+ in sustained, high-impact enrichment to 25,000+ children living in high-poverty communities. After selling that company, I fled to life on land in rural Appalachia, confused by the world I saw and my role in it.

I tried really hard to live a simple, humble life. I tried really hard to love farming. But, this wasn't the totality of my story. Heart of Men was born as a bridging of my love for the land and my calling to create and lead.

I'm on a quest to keep living the fullest extent of my gift. And, I f****** love standing beside men as they step into their full personhood and give what they came to give.

My mom's people from eastern NC were barn-raisers. I like to think of myself as a people-raiser.

The Guys In This Work

What kind of guys are in our circles?

Carpenters. Software executives. Artists. Formerly incarcerated brothers now dedicated to serving justice-involved youth. Wealth managers. Musicians. Blue collar business owners. Entrepreneurs. Mechanics. Men with PhDs and men without high-school degrees. New fathers. Grandfathers.

What we all share: we're chasing the real stuff of this life, and we're willing to do the work to get there.

From the Brotherhood

"I came to this circle a desperate man. My marriage was in trouble, after 25 years of striving for repair. I longed for an intimacy with my wife and kids that seemed elusive. Through the course of this work, I gained a new perspective on living that has transformed all aspects of how I navigate life. With full access to my heart, I can now bring depth, presence, sensitivity and groundedness to all parts of my life. This group of like-minded brothers now know the true 'me' as well as anyone on the planet. This is the most transformative experience in my life."

Full Circle Fund

In all our in-person programming, we welcome brothers coming from diverse and historically under-represented life-ways. These brothers offer the space an immense gift in the richness of perspective and life circumstance they bring.

Something incredibly powerful happens when a highly successful entrepreneur is sitting in circle next to a brother who just did ten years in prison who is sitting next to a teacher. This work is re-connecting threads that have been long severed in our dominant culture. In doing so, we have a more robust picture of how we need to lead.
